America's Cup
Sydney NSW 05 September 2024
Australia’s connection to the America’s Cup goes much further back than the historic victory by Australia II in 1983.
In fact, the family behind the first Australian challenge all the way back in 1962 is now throwing its support – moral and financial – behind the first ever stand-alone women’s event at the Puig Women’s America’s Cup, this month in Barcelona.
Glenn Crane and Caroline Ryrie Crane are founders of global software company Inlogik, whose expense management solution ExpenseMe has become a gold sponsor of Andoo Team Australia, the name of the Australian women’s team at this year’s event.
For Caroline, this sponsorship marks the culmination of a more than six-decade America’s Cup journey that began in 1962, when her famous yachting competitor father Colin Ryrie joined media magnate Frank Packer in backing Australia’s first challenge for the ‘Auld Mug’.
“The America’s Cup has been such a huge part of my life,” Caroline recalled. “I know from my dad’s experience how important it is to have the right support, both moral and financial, behind you when you are in this contest. So I’m so proud that ExpenseMe can help Andoo Team Australia make waves in Barcelona.”
Annick Donat, ATA Chair, said "Andoo Team Australia is delighted to welcome the ExpenseMe brand onboard, continuing a proud tradition of support from the family behind this iconic brand for Australia’s America’s Cup journey. As we enter a new era with our Youth and Women's regattas, this partnership is a powerful alignment, showcasing an innovative Australian business excelling on the global stage. It’s a fantastic synergy with the prestige and spirit of this historic competition.”
Expected to be one of the highlights of the 2024 America's Cup regattas, it is the first time in the 173 year history of the America’s Cup that there has been an event for female crews to compete, regardless of age.
ExpenseMe is an Australian company, developed and owned by software specialist Inlogik. ExpenseMe provides smart end-to-end expense management solutions for businesses of all sizes, and across all kinds of industries.
